AutoXray AX2500 Awesome.
This thing has been at my side for at least three years now while I have cut through the red tape of preparing vehicles for NC inspection procedures. I am not working in the mechanic field currently but; am a qualified MC,Auto,M60&M1 Tank Mech,KC-130R&F model Mech,CH53E Heavy Lift Helo Mech. so it works for my old butt.

AutoXray AX2500 BEST EVER!

AutoXray AX2500 BEST EVER!
Hello. i have been a driveway mechanic for years. tuneups, oil changes, simple maintaining and repairs. for years i hated getting into newer cars because of obd-I and obd-II trouble codes . This meant paying almost 80 bucks for a diagnostic which meant a guy plugs a computer into my car and presses a button . yeah a lot of work. so i wanted a scanner of my own to do just that BEFORE i heard the "mechanics" tell me something i didn't know. The AX2500 is easy to use and comes pre-loaded with everything you need for obd-I and obd-II . no guessing anymore it tells you just what you need and can clear codes on certain vehicles and that resets check engine light. The menu is easy to follow and once you tell it what type of system and vehicle you are checking its simple to pull trouble codes, and system data and then you know just what is going on under your hood. A lot of shops have not been honest.my 1998 buick regal gs sedan has not had any trouble codes in 5 years, but my 1989 buick t-type coupe was giving me a check engine light soon after a different repair. some shops don't want to even bother, so i decided i needed to get the cheapest but most useful feature filled scanner i needed. it told me i needed a cam sensor in about 5 seconds. i find this tool invaluable with these computer cars and it has already paid for itself. i recommend if you want to be sure when you walk into a repair shop your not ripped off, or you do your own driveway repairs. you cant go wrong. amazon delivered it super quick too.

AutoXray AX2500 Saves Money

AutoXray AX2500 Saves Money.
this is a handy tool, saved me cost of time and repair shop diagnostics. showed code and oxygen sensor and bank. also showed on my other car camshaft sensor. This tool allows you to reset the check engine light and then drive the vehicle and when the light comes on again to verify what is wrong. It comes with all the cables you need to plug into the vehicles of various manufacturers, the obdII is the cable i use most. would buy this again if it ever died, dont waste your money on a small different item from like walmart and not get all the hookup cables.

AutoXray AX2500 I'd Buy It Again

AutoXray AX2500 I'd Buy It Again.
I'm a bonehead mechanic. When an engine warning light goes on, I hate having to take my car to a shop & then being trapped with their diagnosis and fix. So after checking Consumer Reports, I bought their highly-rated AutoXray CodeScout 2500. The warning light on my 2005 Dodge Caravan came on at 52,000 miles. I already had myself convinced that it was an oxygen sensor, because they are usually the first to fail. But SURPRISE, the Code Reader showed a code & diagnosis of a clogged or leaky EGR valve. I didn't even know what that was, but after checking online, I learned what the EGR valve looks like and where it's located on the engine. I bought a new one from the dealer, and installed it. Because I'm a bonehead, it took me several hours to do the job. But I figure my scanner is already paid for just in the savings on one job! The only difficulty I experienced with this product was getting the rubber cover off to insert the batteries. Otherwise it's pretty darn slick!

AutoXray AX2500 Best thing since sliced bread

AutoXray AX2500 Best thing since sliced bread.
The AutoXray CodeScout 2500 was exactly what I needed to repair my daughter's '98 BMW M3. Based on the code readout which told me "coolant temperature insufficient to . . . " I was able to pinpoint the problem with a bit of logic and a test drive to confirm that the thermostat was probably stuck open. I replaced the thermostat and cleared the fault. The CodeScout paid for itself in one use and I've got two other cars it will work with. Excellent quality and very reasonable price.
